Helms, Henderson & Porter, P.A. was established in August, 1999, by the merger of Helms, Cannon, Hamel & Henderson with W. Frank Porter, P.A. These law firms trace their histories to some of Charlotte's oldest continuous law firms: Lane & Helms; Hamel, Cannon & Hamel; and Henderson & Shuford. The resulting professional association has a broad general practice. Its partners and associates are actively involved in continuing legal education seminars, professional association activities, and civic and political affairs.
